2017 Jeep Compass Overview

The 2017 Jeep Compass in Scottsdale has been unchanged for the new model year. Often referred to as a baby Grand Cherokee, the Compass features similar styling to the mid-size SUV which buyers find appealing. It also offers seating for up to five passengers, is more affordable than several other options in its class and comes with attractive features. Additionally, the Compass can tackle off-road terrain with ease and is available with several package options that further enhance its driving capabilities.

2017 Jeep Compass Models & Features

The latest Compass is offered in two trims: Sport and Latitude. Each one comes with a variety of excellent features and delivers top-notch performance.


The Sport trim is equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, satellite radio, cloth seating, Bluetooth connectivity, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, foglights, 60/40-split folding rear seatbacks and a tilt-only steering wheel. Buyers can add on the 75th Anniversary package or Sport package to the model, which tack on a sunroof, bronze-painted alloy wheels, heated front seats and vinyl upholstery, to name a few.


17-inch wheels, silver interior trim, heated seats, reclining rear seatbacks and a 115-volt power outlet is standard on the Latitude, along with the components of the Sport trim. The High Altitude package adds a sunroof, leather seating and 17-inch wheels.

Freedom Drive II Off-Road Group

Buyers planning on using the 2017 Jeep Compass in Scottsdale for off-roading are encouraged to purchase this package. It comes with skid plates, a brake lock differential, 17-inch wheels, all-terrain tires, an engine cooler, a strong alternator, tow hooks and an upgraded all-wheel drive system to support your off-road adventures.

2017 Jeep Compass Performance Offerings

A 2.0L four-cylinder, generating 158 horsepower and 141 lb.-ft. of torque, is the base engine offered on the Compass. Sport models pair the engine with a five-speed manual, while Latitude gets a CVT.

A 2.4L four-cylinder is also available on front-wheel drive models; however, it is standard on all-wheel drive variants. Delivering 172 horsepower and 165 lb.-ft. of torque, the engine is paired with the same five-speed manual on Sport, but is matched to a six-speed automatic on Latitude.

Both of the engines support a 2,000-pound towing capacity when the Compass is properly equipped.

2017 Jeep Compass Safety
