Four prominent American automakers—Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep®, and Ram—have announced a partnership honoring the nation's 250th anniversary. The automakers will join America250, an organization directed by Congress to commemorate the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The four automakers are the sole automakers sponsoring the commemoration, but many corporations will also support the initiative.
About the Initiative
Along with commemorating the Declaration of Independence, the initiative represents an important connection between the public and private sectors, including ongoing consumer support for the four American automakers. The America250 initiative is designed to further intertwine the public and private sectors and engage communities nationwide. Although the Declaration of Independence commemoration is just one day, the America250 campaign will last an entire year. The annual campaign, 'America Made Us,' will honor people and companies that have converged to make all four automakers successful.
Along with simply honoring the four Automakers, the America250 initiative will tell the story of how all four automakers rose to prominence in the automotive industry. The companies collectively selected Oliver Francois, the global chief marketing officer for the four brands. Francois will tell the automakers' stories from the start, including their origins in Detroit, Michigan. To pay homage to their beginnings in industrial America, the automakers will feature a campaign called 'Imported from Detroit,' highlighting how Detroit turned from a gritty industrial city into one of the most significant cities in the country for manufacturing and business. Additionally, Ram will add its own video to the campaign, ' God Made a Farmer.' This production highlights the importance of farmers and agriculture to the U.S. economy. That industry is also a large consumer of Ram trucks, which help farmers carry out all the activities necessary to keep the country's farms going.
As a third component of the campaign, the four automakers will move a fleet of their vehicles across the country. All four brands will debut special edition models along the way that are associated with the America250 campaign. The automakers will also host official events nationwide to showcase their latest vehicles and special editions.
Once the vehicles have moved across the country, the event will conclude at the headquarters for Stellantis, the collective group name for all four automakers. The grand finale will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
