What is the Jeep Wrangler Maintenance Schedule?

In order to perform at its best, your Jeep Wrangler needs some TLC from time to time. The Wrangler needs to be inspected periodically by a factory-trained mechanic in order to look for any issues that might be present and keep the Jeep's components clean and running smoothly. Just by taking your Jeep in every so often according to the manufacturer's recommended Jeep Wrangler maintenance schedule, you can add years to the life of your SUV and retain its value.

15,000-Mile Service

Although there may be minor variations by model year and trim, most Jeep Wrangler service intervals start at 15,000 miles. The Wrangler will be due for a second oil change and a second tire rotation and inspection, as both of those maintenance tasks happen every 7,500 miles. The brakes will be inspected as well, and the air conditioning filter will also get changed or thoroughly cleaned to prevent debris and grime from building up on the filter's exterior.

30,000-Mile Service

When the Jeep Wrangler hits 30,000 miles it will need an appointment for a few more services. The Jeep will likely require an engine oil and engine filter change. The Jeep will have all four tires re-balanced. A Jeep mechanic will also rotate the tires as needed to make sure they wear evenly. A mechanic at our service center will look at the Jeep's entire braking system, check the battery for contamination and power, and tighten loose terminals. The exhaust system will get a physical inspection, along with the engine air cleaner. A mechanic will look at the Jeep's doors and exterior as well to ensure they are greased and lubricated.

60,000-Mile Service

At 60,000 miles, your Wrangler will require some additional service steps. Axle fluid levels in front and back are inspected at 60,000 miles, and the transfer case fluid gets cleaned, too. A Jeep mechanic will evaluate the tie rod ends and the front suspension for general condition. The universal and CV joints are inspected. Both filters in the engine and cabin are replaced or properly cleaned so that they prevent harmful contaminants from entering the car. The parking brake and brake lining are also inspected.

90,000-Mile Service

The Jeep Wrangler has its transfer case fluid flushed again at 90,000 miles. The car may need a new battery and spark plugs at this time. The belts will get evaluated, along with the transmission fluids for both manual and automatic transmissions.
