What's New for the 2026 Jeep Cherokee?

After discontinuing the iconic Cherokee in 2023, Jeep has decided to reintroduce it for 2026 as a gasoline-electric turbo hybrid. Despite being a hybrid, the all-new model still boasts the same impressive performance, handling, and off-road capabilities that everyone has come to expect from a Cherokee. Jeep has updated the exterior styling and overall appearance, increasing its size while retaining much of the classic look that has made the Cherokee so popular over the years.

What Are the 2026 Cherokee Trims and Features?

For 2026, you can choose between the basic Cherokee 4x4, Laredo, Limited, and Overland trim levels. All models have a 12.3-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment center and a 10.25-inch digital cluster display. The Laredo includes additional features designed to enhance comfort and convenience, including heated front seats, remote start, and a power driver's seat. The Limited package adds features such as heated rear seats, leatherette seating, a power liftgate, wireless phone charging, and a nine-speaker Alpine audio system. The top-tier Overland trim offers full leather seats, 20-inch wheels, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, navigation, and a 360-degree camera.

Every model comes with standard four-wheel drive and a CVT automatic transmission. Jeep estimates that the new Cherokee has a combined fuel efficiency rating of 37 mpg and a range of over 500 miles per tank.

What Safety Features Does the 2026 Cherokee Have?

Every 2026 Cherokee model comes with a full complement of advanced safety features, including side-impact beams, ABS with traction control, predictive brake assist and automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, stability control with anti-rollover, blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic detection, and forward collision mitigation with left-turn assist. All models also include a panic alarm and remote immobilizing, but only the top-tier Overland models have a built-in security system. The robust steel frame and strategically placed crumple zones are designed to absorb impact in the event of a collision, reducing damage.
