What's New For the 2021 Jeep Cherokee?

Although it doesn't get a complete overhaul in 2021, the Jeep Cherokee receives some updates to keep its fans content. Now the Jeep Cherokee is offered in two new trim levels: the Latitude Lux, the most luxurious edition of the Cherokee, and a special 80th anniversary trim. The Jeep Cherokee also comes with more conveniences on all trim levels, and more safety features are standard this year. The Cherokee has a smooth ride with a sophisticated suspension system. Additionally, it is available with a V6 engine with turbo power. An 8.4-inch display screen is standard on most trims, and the Cherokee stands out for exceptional off-road handling.

2021 Cherokee Has Abundant Features

The Cherokee comes in five trims in 2021. First in the lineup is the Latitude. The second is the Latitude Plus, followed by the new Latitude Lux, the off-road Trailhawk, and the Limited. The first trim has an automatic transmission with nine speeds. It features Jeep's Uconnect infotainment system and a user-friendly infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The base trim gets a six-speaker sound system to round out its interior. LED lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, and roof rails are standard on its exterior.

The Latitude Plus adds fog lights and a windshield de-icer to the exterior. Keyless entry, remote start, a leather steering wheel, a heated steering wheel, and heated front seats are added to the Plus. The Lux, which is the latest trim, comes with leather seats and a power-adjustable passenger's seat. With the Trailhawk, you'll get a locking rear axle and all-terrain tires. The Limited adds on more luxury than the other trims with your choice of engine, larger 18-inch wheels, a power liftgate, and dual-zone climate control. A panoramic sunroof is added, and you will also get an enhanced sound system with nine speakers. More safety amenities are added to this trim. The standard features on the Limited can be added to the lower-level trims for a custom finish.

The first engine for the 2021 Jeep Cherokee is a 2.4L with four cylinders. This engine's power output reaches 180 HP. Its peak torque output is 171 LB-FT. You can also get on-demand four-wheel drive. The Latitude Lux has a standard 3.2L V6 engine with a maximum power output of 271 HP and just under 240 LB-FT of torque. It comes with an available 2.0L turbo engine capable of 270 HP and approximately 300 LB-FT of torque. All engines have a nine-speed transmission.

Jeep Cherokee Safety Features

Standard safety for the 2021 Cherokee includes forward collision mitigation, lane-keep assist, and blind-spot monitoring. The Latitude Plus also adds on rear automatic braking, which brings the vehicle to a stop if it detects a potential collision in the back. This feature is available for the other trims. The Limited trim also gets adaptive cruise control, which is available for the other trims as a standalone safety feature.
