What's New for the 2022 Dodge Charger?

The 2022 Dodge Charger continues on with the same power, style, and comfort that the vehicle is famous for. This year, a deluxe security alarm has been added to the Driver Convenience Group package. It is also a standard feature for Scat Pack models of the Charger.

2022 Charger Trims & Features

There are five main trim levels available when it comes to the 2022 Charger. The first, known as the SXT, has dual-zone automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and power-adjustable front seats. It also has a 7-inch touchscreen and smartphone integration tools. These features are also found on the GT, which further adds a sport suspension, heated side mirrors, and LED foglights.

The R/T trim level is very similar to the GT when it comes to features, but it does add an active exhaust. Choosing the Scat Pack will mean getting launch control, plus heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. The SRT Hellcat Widebody will give drivers heated second-row seats, ventilated front row seats, and a leather-trimmed interior.

When it comes to powertrains, there are actually five choices for the 2022 Charger. Both the SXT and the GT come equipped with a 3.6L V6 that generates up to 300-horsepower and 264 lb-ft of torque. The R/T trim level gets going with a 5.7L V8 with an output of 370-horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque.

Then there is the Scat Pack, which has a 6.4L V8 underneath its hood, allowing it to make 485-horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. As for the SRT Hellcat, this is where drivers get a supercharged 6.2L that pumps out 717-horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. Special models of the Charger, known as the SRT Hellcat Redeye, get an even more powerful supercharged 6.2L that kicks things up to 797-horsepower and 707 lb-ft of torque.

Dodge Charger Safety

Rear parking sensors and a rearview camera are standard on all models of the 2022 Charger. On select trims, extra driver aids are added. Available options include automatic high beams, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and adaptive cruise control. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the 2022 Dodge a score of five out of five stars.
