2024 Jeep Wrangler Willys vs 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon
There are big additions to the 2024 Jeep Wrangler that no avid off-roader should miss out on this year. When they say this one is new, they mean it. They've updated the grille, designed a new touchscreen display, and revamped much of the off-road equipment. If you love to off-road, you'll love the Willys or Rubicon Wrangler trims. Both offer an outstanding design and enough off-road equipment to help you get just about anywhere in the great outdoors.
Performance
The Willys Wrangler begins with a 3.6L engine performance ranked at 285 horsepower. It comes with a 6-speed manual transmission. A Wrangler Rubicon also gets this same starting engine. However, there are other possibilities for the Rubicon as well, including a turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder engine rated at 170 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque with an automatic transmission. The performance also varies because of the off-road equipment added to the Wrangler Rubicon, including its 33-inch all-terrain tires and electronic disconnecting front stabilizer bar.
Appearance
Customizing a Wrangler is an adventure in itself. The Willys starts off with wheel options like 17-inch black painted wheels or 18-inch black painted aluminum wheels. The Rubicon has 17-inch machined wheel options, as well as offering machined wheels with black pockets. Tops this year include the Sky One-Touch Power-Top, available on both models. There are appearance packages available on the Rubicon that you won't find on the Willys. For example, the Xtreme 35 package adds 35-inch tires to your Rubicon. Either one of these models is a stunning display of engineering. The Willys has amazing hood decals, and the Rubicon clearly represents raw power.
Features
The interior design of the Willys and Rubicon are both available in cloth or vinyl seating, but the Rubicon can be upgraded to include leather-trimmed seats. On the outside, the Rubicon offers more flexibility. You can add steel bumpers to your look and get more wheel options. The biggest news for both models is that they now come with an available 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system that runs on the powerful Uconnect 5 NAV platform. Heated front seats and better automatic temperature control are also available on both models, but the Rubicon features automatic temperature control as standard.
