Ninth Year of MotorTrend Presents Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge Attracts Crowd of More Than 40,000 Attendees

The 2024 Roadkill Nights event was a resounding success for Dodge and the 40,000 drag-racing fans who enjoyed the epic race. The show's true star, though, will always be the Dodge models that showcase the brand's competitive motorsports side. The M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan, facilitated many memories for drag-racing enthusiasts.

A Big Night for Big Names

The Roadkill Nights event powered by Dodge celebrated its 9th run this year, and many familiar names made the show what it was. This includes Jimmy Kline as the king of the Big Tire class, Morgan Evans taking the Dodge Direct Connection Grundge Race, and Mike Borggren as the king of the Small Tire class.

One big newsworthy item of the night included the first Dodge Hornet Rally Ride, which will become a massive hit over the years. Before the festivities started, there was a "Sick Powerfest" pre-party that will prove memorable to fans over the years. There was real money up for grabs this year, too, with the World Burnout Championship bringing $25,000 to the winner.

There were some changes to this year's layout. Head of Venue Eric Schwab says, "For the first time, drag racing took place inside the M1 Concourse, offering walkabout pits and enhanced viewing areas that brought fans closer to the action than ever before." The announcer for the night - Brian Lohnes - also weighed in on his perspective of the event. "It was a huge win for the event to come inside M1 Concourse with a stadium feel and completely unprepared surface that was honest, no-prep style drag racing."

Dodge's "Brotherhood of Muscle" continues to draw in new fans year after year. With models like the Dodge Hornet, Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, and Dodge Charger making appearances, there was more than enough to give the brotherhood what it came for. Even more importantly, fans of drag racing in general could surmise why so many people have followed and loved the Dodge brand over the years. These vehicles aren't just for casual transportation. They're athletes and champions.
