Taking the Doors Off My Jeep

The Jeep brand provides excellent vehicles that can be used for daily driving in addition to any outdoor adventures that you happen to be planning. The great thing about Jeep vehicles is that they're extremely durable and rugged. They can even have their doors removed for an open and airy experience while you're driving. When you purchase a vehicle from Airpark Dodge Chrysler Jeep, we give you a thorough run-through of your vehicle, so you know all about the different features that it provides. If you've forgotten how to remove your Jeep doors, we have a quick reminder for you.

Removing the Doors on a Jeep

Before you begin the process of removing your doors, roll the windows down. This will protect them while you remove the doors. It's also a good way to protect the windows from damage while storing the doors.

Disconnect the wires and cables that are underneath your dashboard. You'll need to remove the footwell for this process. There are easy access clips that provide you with access.

Lift the door straps off of the provided hooks.

Remove the hinge bolt on the door while sliding the door away from the body. Move slowly to prevent damage to the doors.

Keep your doors somewhere safe where they won't be hit or jostled by anything nearby.

When you go to put the doors back onto your vehicle, you can use this opportunity to lube up your door hinges. That lubrication makes it easier in the future to remove the doors.

If you're still having issues removing the doors from your Jeep, stop down to Airpark Dodge Chrysler Jeep. We would be happy to give you a hand.
