We’ve told you before about the possibility that Jeep would release a pickup version of the Jeep Wrangler. Now it looks like that might finally be happening, as the automaker has just confirmed that the Wrangler pickup will be heading to production in 2017.
Jeep global chief Mike Manley told The Detroit News, "[FCA CEO] Sergio [Marchionne] and I work very, very closely on the Jeep product portfolio, and both of us have been a fan of a potential Wrangler pickup," he said. "For me, there is a historical place in our lineup for it.”
That historical place should continue to cement the Wrangler as one of Jeep’s bestselling vehicles, especially when the newly redesigned standard Wrangler also makes its market debut in 2017. Like other new Jeep models, both Wranglers should boast powerful engines, as well as aluminum alloy parts that will help them maintain a light body frame design with nice fuel numbers.
This is all the information we have right now about the new Wrangler pickup, but we should be hearing more in the coming months about this exciting new addition to the Jeep lineup. For now, take a look at our full stock of new Jeep trucks and SUVs available now in Scottsdale!
