Viper fans rejoice! The Viper ACR is back and according to Dodge, this latest version is the biggest and baddest ACR yet.

Dodge has been teasing fans since last year’s SEMA show when they showed off their Viper ACR concept car, which featured new aerodynamic features and track-inspired racing strips. This signaled to fans that the automaker may be bring back the ACR and it looked like the striated roadster will be making its way to the marketplace.

"The Viper has always been more of a street-legal race car than a track-capable streetcar, and the new 2016 Dodge Viper ACR is the fastest street-legal Viper track car ever," said Tim Kuniskis, President and Chief Executive Officer – Dodge Brand and SRT Brand, FCA – North America. "Our goal is to arm our enthusiasts with the ultimate Viper track car to dominate road courses around the world."

The new Viper ACR gets an 8.4-liter V10 engine that produces over 645 horsepower. It also receives 19-inch custom wheels, a “race-tuned” suspension, Bilstein shocks, Carbon-ceramic brakes and new lightweight features that Dodge says will increase the car’s speed and agility. But the biggest upgrade on the new Snake is its new aerodynamic features that are said to provide enough downforce to allow the car to go nearly 177 mph.

The new 2016 Viper ACR is due to arrive in Phoenix, sometime next year. If you would like more information about the new racer, visit Airpark today and speak with one of our expert sales associates.
