Popular art event, First Fridays, kicks off its yearlong celebrations this week. Starting March 6, 2015, First Fridays are the perfect events for art lovers and have become one of Downtown Phoenix’s most beloved cultural occasions.

Organized by the nonprofit organization ArtLink, First Fridays has been the go to event for art lovers for the past several years. Thousands of Phoenix residents and visitors come out to First Fridays each month to see the best artwork in Phoenix. During these monthly excersions, you can tour some of the top art venues and galleries, while mingling with fellow art lovers.

Visitors have the option to either take the First Friday Trolley Tour or walk the route themselves. The Trolley Tour runs the complete circuit between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. The trolley stops at each hub on the First Fridays' venue map for 15-minute intervals. If you would like to take the tour on foot, a map is available on ArtLink’s website that highlights the various participating galleries and venues.

Several vendors will also be on hand, showcasing various examples of fine art and homemade crafts. Peruse these gems at the Roosevelt Row A.R.T.S Market on the corner of Roosevelt St. and 5th Ave. in Downtown Phoenix. There you will be able to enjoy several food and beverage options that will make an excellent bookend to such a lovely evening.

ArtLink’s First Fridays will be an ongoing event until December. It takes place the first Friday of every month, starting at 6 p.m. For more information, visit ArtLink’s website.
