We believe that all dogs deserve a forever home, no matter how perfect or imperfect they may be. And that's definitely the case for this month's perfectly imperfect spotlight: Winnie.
X-rays have shown that this uber-adorable young gal has bad knees (severe lateral and bi-lateral patella luxation in both knees). But sweet Winnie doesn't let those knees get her down! The beautiful girl gets around pretty darned well, and though she has a funny gait, she can run and play with the best of them.
And not to worry, Winnie is in no pain as this small gal has most likely been afflicted since birth and has just "gotten used to it." She needs a bit of traction on concrete and tile at times, but after that, it's beep-beep-Jeep! And a doggie wheel chair or mobile device can even be employed to Winnie a new set of "wheels."
So what does the future hold for Winnie? Well from her perspective the sky's the limit!
Winnie is 18 months old, spayed and current on all vaccinations. She gets along with other dogs wonderfully (cats are unknown), rides nicely in a car, walks well on lead (short distances - remember those knees) and has a great appetite.
Winnie also loves to be near people and is a total lap dog. She's lightweight at 65 pounds, and to top it all off, she is kennel trained and housebroken.
We know that Winifred is not the dog for everyone. She needs a "special home" as she is a very special dog. If you are interested in adopting Winnie, please go to AZPYRS.com and fill out your application today!
