The Jeep Cherokee has been having a fantastic year, since its debut in October 2013. Already one of Jeep's most successful new models - over 154,000 units sold - the Jeep Cherokee's V6 model is getting a few new standard additions for its 2015 model year, including GM's impressive stop-start technology.
GM's stop-start system is a great piece of tech that increases a car's fuel efficiency by eliminating wasteful fuel spending when the car is idle. The system works basically the way it sounds. When the car is stopped, say in a morning traffic jam, the stop-start system turns the engine off. When the driver hits the gas again, the engine immediately turns back on. This allows the car to conserve fuel that it would normally use during this time, which in turn means that Cherokee owners will no longer feel the gas-guzzling burn of heavy traffic.
Hailed as one of the best new fuel saving technologies to come out in recent years, Arizona drivers will love the stop-start system, thanks to the impressive amount of fuel economy it adds to the 2015 Jeep Cherokee in Phoenix.
And that's not the only fuel saving feature the 2015 Cherokee is adding. Jeep is also updating the Cherokee's body frame this year by giving it a few more aerodynamic external features. These new features will contribute to the Cherokee's increased fuel economy by making the SUV lighter and less wind resistant.
