First announced back in May of last year, Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne stated that the new electric Town & Country PHEV will be launching sooner than originally planned. The new plug-in minivan was supposed to hit dealers sometime in Fall 2016, but now it looks like Airpark DCJ will be getting the PHEV by late 2015!
An exciting new venture for Chrysler, the new Town & Country PHEV is set to be the first plug-in minivan to hit the market and is an impressive leap forward for electric cars. Chrysler's parent company, FCA US, says that the new electric T&C should earn close to 75mpg - a nice number for any electric car - but especially for a minivan that has the added weight and gerth that smaller sedans and hatchbacks don't have to contend with.
The perfect vehicle for Arizona families, the 2015 Chrysler Town & Country in Phoenix already has tons of great features that make it one of the bestselling minivans on the market. And now with the new plug-in model even more families will flock to the Town & Country PHEV's undoubtedly impressive fuel economy that is sure to save AZ families tons at the gas pump.
FCA also said that other hybrids will soon follow in the Town & Country PHEV's footsteps, including a full-size electric crossover, so look for other green Chrysler autos to come to Airpark in the near future. We are very excited about this new green wave coming from the automaker this year. We can't wait to see what other Chrysler classics get the hybrid or plug-in treatment down the line.
