Chrysler Group LLC has just announced that they will be fully rebranding the car company with the immediate implementation of a new name: FCA US LLC. This acronym-heavy name stands for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and will be the official name for the former Chrysler Group going forward.
This change has long been expected, ever since the merger of Chrysler and Fiat earlier this year and the US division of Chrysler Group looks to mirror its parent company more closely. Currently headquartered in Auburn-Hills, Michigan, all branding for FCA US will feature the new name starting immediately.
Chrysler said in a statement, "FCA US, together with parent FCA, continues to work toward the business plan presented on Investor Day in May 2014. Additionally, the Company remains proud of its joint heritage. FCA US continues to build upon the solid foundations first established by Walter P. Chrysler in 1925 as well as a rich Fiat heritage that dates from 1899."
Another big change for the newly monikered automaker is the new Fiat Chrysler logo (above) that will be replacing the current Pentastar logo on all corporate branding. The new logo presents a very united front of Fiat and Chrysler. Simple and clear, the new logo will be featured on all branding, though FCA US's various brands, including Chrysler, will retain an independent branding that may still include the Pentastar.
No word yet on whether more changes are coming to FCA US this year, but stay tuned to Airpark DCJ to see any and all new details as they become available.
