What is a "FWEEL" (Pha-wheel)?
According to the Urban Dictionary, it is something "pretty cool or very rocking." Not that we at AZPyrs really speak the 'language,' but in this case, they have it right!
Fweel is our newest Great Pyrenees rescue dog and he is certainly lots of fun! A chipper two year old, Fweel has a Gaelic name that the finders of this sweet stray thought applied well to his slight body. Seems like our little man had been on the run in Northern AZ for some time and had not eaten often.
Fweel did have a home at one time, and he knows sit, stay, come and down. Quite an accomplishment for a young Great Pyrenees. He is a moderate barker; he gets along well with other dogs (both male and female), and is curious, but good, with cats. Fweel rides nicely in a vehicle, adores children of all ages and is also housebroken. Like most strays, he's a bit shy at first, but comes around beautifully.
Fweel adjusted to the kennel situation like a pro. Placed between two altered males, there were, indeed, trepidations. No need to be - just a lot of wagging tails and happy barks. This boy wants to be friends with everyone! Of course, Fweel will be neutered, microchipped and current on all vaccinations before permanent placement.
"Mr. Perfect Minor" needs to put on weight. He is smaller in stature (approx 20 inches at the shoulder) than most males and severely underweight; approx 60 pounds. To add-insult-to-injury, the poor soul had to be shaved down due to excessive matting and staining; yet he handles all his afflictions with humor and nobility!
Fweel needs the opportunity of time, love and good nutrition to return to the stunning young dog he undoubtedly was in the past. His glorious, fabulous and loving personality certainly surpasses his current physical state.
