Don't freak out too much, but Ram just debuted their 2015 lineup and boy is it a beaut. Looking to keep pushing the envelope after they branched out from Dodge five years ago, Ram has been trying to top themselves with every model year since.
And this year just might have topped all the rest. With this new 2015 lineup, Ram can now claim best-in-class ratings for towing, payload and torque, meaning that the heavy duty truck game just got real, people.
So what's this new torque rating that everyone keeps talking about? Well it looks like Ram decided to concentrate especially hard on upping their torque capacity this year by boosting the 3500 HD's Cummins 6.7-liter, inline-six diesel engine. This new engine now produces an amazing 865 lb.-ft. of torque, which is the best number on the market (and I'm sure gives every truck-lover reading this is the all-over shivers).
All these tweaks also mean changes in the payload, which has been increased from 7,320 to 7,390 pounds. And you can still tow the heck out of anything as the 3500 HD's 30,000 lb. towing capability remains steady and awesome.
So be sure to come by Airpark in the next few weeks and test drive one of these new bad boys. They are on our lot now, so go on ahead and freak out. Don't worry, we won't judge. Well maybe a little bit...
