Chrysler Group announced this month that it will be taking their commitment to vehicle safety even further with the creation of their all-new office of Vehicle Safety and Regulatory Compliance.

Led by senior vice president, Scott Kunselman, the office reports directly to CEO, Sergio Marchionne, and is mainly responsible for making sure all Chrysler Group vehicles continue their compliance with federal regulation.

This new move is in response to growing consumer vigilance and heightened federal regulations due in no small part to the now infamous ignition switch recalls at General Motors. According to Chrysler's press release, "This action will help intensify [Chrysler Group's] continuing commitment to vehicle safety and regulatory compliance."

Looking at new head, Kunselman, he should be a good choice for the job as he's coming off of his post as the exec in charge of purchasing and supplier quality, and before that he was senior vice president of engineering, which included oversight of regulatory compliance.
