The incoming 2014 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel is in high demand due to its best-in-class, estimated 28 mpg rating, and when Ram's initial order allocation for the truck opened up on Feb. 7, people went into a frenzy. In just a three-day period, over 8,000 orders were received for the EcoDiesel, filling Ram's allocation and making up 50 percent of the total order mix. Many customers also placed individual orders for the truck, despite not getting the chance to see it in person first, which doubled the special order rate corporate average.
"The Ram 1500 is the only half-ton truck available with a diesel, so we see this as incremental business by having the only truck that can offer best-in-class fuel economy of 28 MPG combined with 9,200 lbs. of towing capacity," said Reid Bigland, President and CEO - Ram Truck Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. "It's every truck manufacturer's dream to have this kind of initial order demand for a product. Fuel economy is the No. 1 request of half-ton buyers and the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel delivers without compromising capability."
The brand-new 2014 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel is slated to officially begin shipping out in the next coming weeks and another order allocation is set to open up as well. Keep any eye out for the much-anticipated truck at Airpark and view our other standard 2014 Ram 1500 models on sale now.
